It was a case of hard work for nothing. After two days of intense effort during which Izan Guevara and the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha team made steady progress in competitiveness, the Majorcan rider’s Sunday ended in the medical center at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. His left foot was immobilized by doctors as a precaution following a nasty crash at the final corner, caused when David Alonso lost the front of his bike under braking and collided with his compatriot from behind.

Guevara, who had started 14th on the grid and fought his way up to ninth place, in the impact slammed his left foot hard against the footpeg breaking also his boot. Taken immediately to the medical center, X-rays revealed a possible microfracture in his left foot, which will be reassessed in the coming days.

With Guevara sidelined through no fault of his own, the team's hopes rested solely on Tony Arbolino. Facing a particularly tough weekend, Arbolino had started 24th on the grid. His goal, far from easy, was to at least finish within the points — a mission he successfully accomplished. Thanks to a courageous ride, Arbolino gained several positions in the opening laps, settling into 15th place, where he remained until the checkered flag.

After five rounds of the Moto2 World Championship, Arbolino sits 12th overall with 29 points, while Guevara remains 15th with 12 points. In the team standings, BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha is currently 9th with 41 points.

From Spain, the Moto2 World Championship now moves to France for the sixth round, scheduled for May 11th at the iconic Le Mans circuit.
