Racing at Assen is always a unique experience, with fans packing the circuit from as early as Thursday. This year’s 100th TT edition drew even more spectators along the fast, technical 5-kilometer layout, hosting round ten of the MotoGP World Championship. In dry conditions with temperatures slightly higher than previous days and the sun breaking through the clouds, the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team couldn’t fully capitalize on their hard work. Neither Miller nor Oliveira managed to advance past Q1, with Jack narrowly missing out on Q2 by just under two-tenths of a second, securing 14th on the grid. Miguel was forced to start from 18th.

At the start of the Sprint Race, Oliveira made a strong opening lap, gaining six positions. Miller's race became complicated the following lap when his airbag protection system was triggered by strong winds. After 13 laps of intense action, Oliveira finished as the top Yamaha in 12th, while Miller brought it home in 14th.

With the Sprint now behind them, all focus shifts to tomorrow's race, which marks a special celebration for Yamaha Motors' 70th Anniversary. The four YZR-M1 bikes will run the retro-inspired livery that was unveiled in an iconic photo on the Assen main straight Thursday evening, paying tribute to the 1999 YZR-R7.
