MotoGP fans have been greatly anticipating the special colour schemes sported in honour of MotoGP's 75th Anniversary. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Team will be decked out in the iconic red/white colours used by Yamaha in the GP World Championship since its first entry, in 1961, and later made famous by GP legends Jarno Saarinen and Giacomo Agostini.
Silverstone (UK), 1st August 2024
This weekend, Silverstone hosts a huge celebration in honour of MotoGP’s 75th anniversary. As part of the festivities, every MotoGP team will be running a vintage-inspired livery on the Monster Energy British Grand Prix Sunday. The one-off colour schemes were already revealed in a special broadcast today, at 14:00 local time (GMT +1), live from pit lane.

The special livery that both the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Team will be sporting on Sunday is inspired by the iconic red/white colours used by Yamaha in the GP World Championship since its first entry in 1961. The special livery was inspired by Jarno Saarinen's and Giacomo Agostini's YZR500 colour scheme. Quartararo and Rins likewise got inspiration from Jarno Saarinen's gear for their own special leathers and helmet designs. Gardner's special helmet design was inspired by Eddie Lawson.

What a spectacle! If the MotoGP fans weren't already anticipating this Sunday, they will definitely be looking forward to it now! We are so pleased with how our livery turned out, and we can't wait for Sunday, especially because we may or may not have a few more small surprises in store that bring the colour scheme together.

Today was a really nice event and a good teaser for what's to come on Sunday. The bike looks beautiful, and I look forward to riding it whilst wearing my special-colour-scheme leathers and helmet – it will be a unique atmosphere. I think the fans will really enjoy this event because it's something different and exciting.

I was pushing to make a full recovery for this race weekend because there was no way that I was going to miss this! I like this new livery and my matching leathers and helmet so much! I hope that the fans get a lot of joy out of this too.

I was counting my lucky stars when they told me. Not only do I get to ride another MotoGP round, but I also get to be part of such an historically significant weekend and get to ride in a beautiful colour scheme. I like old school stuff and classic cars and bikes, so this is right up my street. Of course, this GP is serious business, as usual. I want to give the team as much good data as possible, but the special livery for Sunday makes it a very special Race.
