Quartararo Makes Up Seven Places in Difficult Silverstone Sprint
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team was solely represented by Fabio Quartararo on the Monster Energy British Grand Prix Saturday as Álex Rins had withdrawn from the round yesterday evening. The Frenchman started the Sprint from P22, but a strong start was key to his finish in 11th place.

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo had his work cut out for him during the Monster Energy British Grand Prix Super Saturday. After a tricky qualifying, he had to start the 10-lap Sprint from P18. However, El Diablo had a strong start and used his defensive riding skills to wrap up the Sprint in 11th place.
Quartararo had a good start from P18 and gained five positions on the opening lap. He found himself in the mid-pack. Though he struggled to stay with the riders ahead of him, the Frenchman had no problem keeping rivals at bay. As Marc Marquez took a fall on lap 8, the Yamaha man was in 11th place, which he held to the finish line with a 15.373s gap to the race leader.
Today's results see Quartararo stay in 15th place in the overall standings with 44 points. The injured Rins (who withdrew from the British GP yesterday) kept his 21st position with 8 points. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP keep their 9th place in the team championship with 52 points, and Yamaha hold onto 4th position in the constructor’s championship with 48 points.
MotoGP will be back in action tomorrow for Warm Up, held from 09:40 - 09:50 GMT +1, and the 20-lap Race, which starts at 13:00.
