Having completed 9 laps in the morning, Gardner went on to add another 22 laps in the afternoon. He clocked a 1'46.716s in the Practice, which put him in 23rd place in the results, 3.280s from first.
The Yamaha Factory Racing Test Team will continue their testing programme during the Saturday MotoGP sessions: FP2 will be held from 10:10 - 10:40 GMT + 9, followed by the qualifying sessions from 10:50 - 11:30, and the 12-lap Sprint that starts at 15:00.
