Buriram (Thailand), 13th February 2025
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins returned to the Chang International Circuit today for the final day of 2025 preseason testing. They made the most of the improved track conditions during the two riding sessions (Session 1 from 10:00-13:00 GMT +7 and Session 2 from 13:20-18:00). With the 2025 MotoGP season due to start in two weeks' time, both riders worked diligently to find a good base set-up. They completed their testing schedules and took 8th and 17th place respectively in the combined Day-2 and the overall Thailand MotoGP Official Test results.

Quartararo got another 27 laps in on the Day-2 morning session. He dropped under the 1'30s mark with a fastest time of 1'29.818s, which had him take 10th place, 0.963s from first. In the afternoon, he rode until the chequered flag came out, adding another 46 laps, and managed to shave off more than 0.3s, posting a 1'29.586s. The effort earned him 5th in the afternoon session rankings, 0.526s off the top time. It also left him 8th in the combined Day-2 and the overall Buriram Test classifications, with a 0.731s gap to first.

Rins had another productive day in Thailand. He got 38 laps in during the first session of Day 2. His 1'30.218s best time put him in 15th position in the Session-1 timesheets, 1.363s from the top. In the afternoon, he put in a further 19 laps and improved to a 1'30.062s. This had him finish 13th in the Session-2 rankings, 1.002s off the best time. However, in today's overall and in the combined Day 1-2 timesheets, the Spaniard ranks 17th, 1.207s from the fastest rider.

It was a different test than Sepang. In these two days, we mainly worked on fine-tuning the bikes for the GP, and we spent a lot of time on electronics set-ups. During Day 1, we had some difficulties, because the track was very green, and for all riders it was difficult to find a good feeling with the front. This got better today as the track conditions improved. We did a decent sprint race simulation, and at the end of the day we did a couple of time attacks which showed that again we were able to narrow the gap to the fastest time also in Buriram. Now, we have just enough time to analyse all the data, have some rest after spending 20 days in Asia, and get ready for the start of the season.

I think that we have made a small step forward compared to last year. This test was a bit complicated for me. Like yesterday, the front tyres were not our thing during these two days, so we have to try to figure out how we can improve for the first race. But I think that, judging by our riding, we are doing quite well. Hopefully, we can make a step with the front feeling, which is usually our strong point for the race. I think that our level is different than last year, but we want to go into this season with no expectations and just do our best.

I'm satisfied with the work we have done during the preseason. We've done many days of riding here in Buriram and in Sepang, and we finished this test with good conclusions. I'm feeling quite confident. I improved my way of riding and my bike's set-up, so now I'm able to be more consistent than last year. For sure, we need to keep working to find these 0.3-0.4s to improve our lap time but, overall, I'm quite happy. I feel ready to start the season.
