Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are all ready and fired up for a second consecutive triple header: this time with the MotoGP paddock touching down in Australia, Thailand, and Malaysia.

After a one-week break, the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team have travelled to Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia, for the first round of the second flyaway triple header.

Fabio Quartararo commences Round 17 of the MotoGP World Championship holding 13th place in the standings. The Frenchman has ridden a MotoGP bike at the Phillip Island track three times: in 2019, 2022, and 2023. El Diablo is determined to put on a good show for the Aussie fans this weekend, especially since last year their GP weekend was cut short due to extreme weather. As the Race was held on the Saturday, it meant that it was the Sprint that got cancelled on the Sunday, making this year's Sprint the first ever MotoGP 13-lap dash.

Álex Rins holds joint-19th in the overall rankings and is aiming for points on Phillip Island. Like the majority of MotoGP riders, he likes the Australian track for its flowing nature, its scenic position right next to the ocean, and the great atmosphere all round. He has good memories of this place: he stood on the rostrum here thrice in a row, taking first place in Moto3 in 2013, third place in Moto3 in 2014, and first place in 2015 in Moto2. He also knows the taste of victory in the premier class on Australian soil: he won the MotoGP Race in 2022.

Phillip Island hosted its first motorcycle race in 1931. In 1956, a permanently constructed circuit started hosting motorcycle events until it fell into disrepair during the late 70s and early 80s. After extensive renovation, the circuit made a comeback and hosted its first MotoGP events in 1989 and 1990, only to become a regular fixture once more from 1997 onwards. Thanks to its terrific coastal location and its flowing 4.4km layout, featuring seven left and five right corners and a 900m longest straight, the Phillip Island track is loved by fans and MotoGP riders alike.

The Grand Prix of Australia is held in the GMT +11 time zone. The FP1 will take place on Friday from 10:45 - 11:30 local track time, followed by the Practice session from 15:00 - 16:00. On Saturday, FP2 will be held from 10:10 - 10:40, the qualifying sessions from 10:50 - 11:30, and the 13-lap Sprint starts at 15:00. On Sunday, Warm Up is held from 09:40 - 09:50 and the 27-lap Race starts at 14:00.
